Moose Safari in Norway Book
The moose is Norway’s largest living land mammal and can reach up to 2.3 metres at the shoulder. A bull moose can grow between 2.5 and 3.2 metres in length, while the cow is slightly smaller. Moose live in Oppdal and across large parts of Scandinavia, often roaming alone in forests and wilderness areas.
What can you expect on a moose safari?
On a moose safari in Oppdal, we take you into forest areas with strong moose populations. Together with experienced and knowledgeable local guides, we drive into areas where the chances of seeing moose in their natural habitat are high. Moose are most active at dusk and dawn, so the safari is adapted to the light conditions to provide the best possible experience.
It is also possible to spot red deer and roe deer along the way. During the tour, we make a short outdoor stop where coffee and a small taste of moose sausage are served. This is a calm and atmospheric nature experience suitable for most people.
