Ice Fishing with a Personal Guide Book

Sigbjørn Frengen, Oppdal Safari

Ice fishing with a personal guide in Oppdal offers peaceful winter days in the mountains, surrounded by snow-covered peaks and open plateaus. Sitting on the ice by a mountain lake with a fishing rod in hand and coffee in a thermos, while the spring sun begins to warm, is an experience many truly appreciate.

What can you expect from ice fishing with a personal guide?

Together with experienced and knowledgeable local guides, we take you to selected mountain lakes with healthy populations of Arctic char and trout. The trip is carried out on skis or snowshoes, depending on conditions and preferences. The guide will show you productive fishing spots and provide advice on techniques and equipment.

For Arctic char, active jigging is usually used, while trout are often tempted with set lines. On multi-day trips, set lines can be left overnight, and it is always exciting to see what the morning brings — perhaps freshly fried mountain fish for breakfast?

The trip is tailored to participants’ wishes and experience level and can be arranged as a day trip or a multi-day tour with overnight camping in tents.
