Oppdal is surrounded by mountain areas with numerous lakes and strong fish populations. Brown trout is the most common species, but Arctic char can also be found in several of the lakes. On our guided fishing trips, we take you to selected mountain lakes offering excellent opportunities to fish for mountain trout and Arctic char, tailored to the participants’ level and preferences.
What can you expect on a guided fishing trip?
Whether you prefer fly fishing, spinning with lures, or traditional trolling methods, the trip can be arranged accordingly. Fish density varies between the lakes, and we adapt the route and fishing spots depending on who is participating. For families with children, we can choose easily accessible lakes close to the road with high fish density, while more experienced anglers may have the opportunity to target larger trout deeper in the mountains.
The trip is not only about fishing, but also about the overall nature experience. The mountain landscape around Oppdal offers tranquility, open plateaus, and rich wildlife. Along the way, we may even spot reindeer and musk oxen. Regardless of experience and ambitions, we ensure a safe and enjoyable fishing trip in beautiful surroundings.
Clothing/gear
Sturdy footwear is recommended, as well as clothing suitable for weather and temperature. Mountain weather can change quickly. An equipment list will be provided upon booking, based on the type and duration of the trip.
