Private guided hike to Snøhetta Book

Sigbjørn Frengen, Oppdal Safari

Sign up for a hike to the highest mountain of Dovrefjell National park!

Snøhetta is one of Norway's most famous mountains and given it's history many Norwegians think it should have been chosen as Norway's national mountain. The hike goes from Snøheim up to the big peak (2286 meters above sea level), and if  weather permits we will also hike to to the middle peak. Our guides are experienced hikers and offer good company, local history of Snøhetta, life on Dovrefjell, geology, botany and information about wildlife including muskox and reindeer. Coffee and a snack will be served. The trip is estimated to last about 6-8 hours for people of moderate fitness. There is a lot of rocks on the hike so we recommend good hiking boots with a stiff sole. The elevation is 800 meters and the total distance is about 12 km. The maximum number of participants on the hike is 12.
