Oppdal Safari has been organizing guided safaris and mountain hikes since 1995 and is today one of the biggest tour guiding companies in our region. Our guides have extensive knowledge and experience in ecology, outdoors and tourism, and is in the best position to give you a safe, challenging and unforgettable experience in our unique environment.
In summer season we have daily guided musk ox safaris, and deer and moose safaris are arranged twice a week. The rest of the year we offer a wide range of activities both for photographers, individuals and events for groups, schools and conference participants.

Sigs German “wirehaired” pointer, aka brew dog. Carries the coffee, and will gladly pull you up the hillsides. Points occationaly on grouses during our hikes, and would love to check out any animal on the way. Does not enjoy sitting still, except from in the lunch breaks.
Sig has close to 100 tours per year. Extremely passionate about wildlife and outdoors. Guide since 2013. Bachelor degree in wildlife management and academic study in hunting, fishing and guiding.
Lars is our resident teacher and walking knowledge sponge. He is a trained outdoor guide and teacher, and has a long background from academic studies of history, society and culture.
Johan Schønheyder started the guiding activity in 1995. He knows the mountains around Oppdal, Dovrefjell National Park and the surrounding areas well and has local knowledge of history, birds, animals, mushrooms and plants.
Håkon Schønheyder grew up in Oppdal and has been guide with us since 2010, doing both muskox and moose safari.
From Oppdal, grew up on a mountain farm, runs faster than a antilope, reindeer hunter, and studied outdoors on the university.
